About
Liv Feijen is a Swedish lawyer with a law degree (juris kandidat) and a BA (filosofie kandidat) in political science, sociology of law, English and Russian from Lund University. She specialized in public international law by obtaining an LLM at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in Lund and an LLM at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.
Liv Feijen also obtained the diploma in international human rights law at the Institute of International Human Rights in Strasbourg and ICRC's certificate in international humanitarian law.
Liv Feijen has worked as a legal officer/protection officer for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 1997 at UNHCR HQs, as well as, in various field locations in the Balkans, Africa and Asia.
She is frequently consulted as an expert in conferences and has trained lawyers, judges and asylum authorities in a number of countries, as well as, provided lectures in refugee law at the universities of Stockholm, Sarajevo etc.
Her main areas of expertise include the EU acquis on asylum, asylum-building, and age and gender.
